Portland Oregon Boudoir Studio | sweet maternity session

I occasionally get asked by clients, in almost a panicked tone, if I have to share their images. The answer is absolutely not! Yes, I love to share my sessions because my clients are beautiful, I'm proud of my work, and it gives future clients inspiration for their own sessions, BUT it is not a requirement that you sign a model release! If you want to keep your images to yourself, I will absolutely respect that. I'd say about 1/3 of my clients keep their images private. It also doesn't have to be an "all or nothing" situation. You can pick and choose which images I share. For example, this beautiful mama must remain anonymous for a variety of reasons, but she gave me permission to share these shots.

Can I also brag here for a minute? These were shot in front of a window and some $10 Ikea curtains. Sometimes I feel like the MacGyver of photography.

Salem Boudoir Studio | Star Wars Themed Shoot

Yes, Star Wars.

You were thinking princess Leia, weren't you? Yeah, no way. That would be too boring. This hot, and self-proclaimed geeky, mama wore her R2D2 swimsuit. And brought some props. Like I've said before, I love out of the box shoots and although this is still a gorgeous woman in my studio… it's most definitely not a traditional boudoir shoot.

Salem Boudoir Photographer | when the kids are away...

What's a mother to do when her children are away at school? An in-home boudoir session, of course! I met up with this beautiful mother shortly after she got her three kids off to school. We drank coffee, we laughed, and we moved a few Barbie toys out of the way.

I loved this little "Sex in the City" inspired idea that she had!

If you think that your home is not "photo ready" for something like this, you're probably wrong. You don't need a large home, a fancy home, or even tons of window light. I've worked in spaces as small as 3x3 feet and produced gorgeous images! I'll work around the mess or move it if necessary. Most of the background falls out of focus anyway, so if you like the idea of an in-home session, but aren't sure if your home will work, I encourage you to contact me. I'm happy to do a walk through with you to determine if your house will work, but more than likely it will. Trust me.
