I often get comments such as...

"Your boudoir clients are so pretty!"

"I'm just not as hot as those girls."

"If I looked like them, I'd do a boudoir session."

You know what?

You ARE as beautiful as my boudoir clients. 

First of all, I'd say that 95% of my clients are mothers and over the age of 35. Some of them are even grandmothers over 50. 

Many have had some "wear and tear" on their bodies from being pregnant, breastfeeding, surgeries, etc. So what?!

Second of all, I shoot plenty of plus sized women. And yes, some of them are in my portfolio and on my blog. Perhaps you just didn't notice that they were plus sized because you were focused on the twinkle in their eyes, their mischievous grin, or their beautiful lingerie.

A combination of posing, lighting, hair, make up, and attire make for flattering photos. This is true. In addition, though, ever woman I've photographed is beautiful. Period. I believe that their beauty is shining through in their images. That is what you're seeing. It's in their smile and in their eyes. You are seeing their personalities in their photos.

I also hear a lot of women say they want to wait until they've reached their goal weight. You know what? I said the same thing. I kept putting my own boudoir session off. Finally, one day I told myself I'd just do the darn session and then I'd book another one after I lost weight. Well, truth be told, I still haven't lost that weight (2yrs later), but I absolutely LOVE my boudoir photos. I look beautiful and sexy in them, despite not being at a comfortable weight. When I'm feeling a little down about myself, I just look at those boudoir photos and see that I've still got it. I'm still sexy. 

I have clients tell me that I made them look beautiful. That is just not true. I simply captured the beauty that was already there.

Oregon Boudoir Photographer | Shoes, shoes, shoes!

It's no secret that I love shoes. 

I thought I'd do a blog post with some of my favorite shoes from past boudoir sessions. Maybe you'll be inspired for your own session!

I actually took this shot during sunrise, before any clients arrived. The light was just so intense that I had to do something with it. What better subject than some killer leopard print heels and some pearls?

I don't know if you can tell in this shot, but these 

shoes are sparkly! I love pretty much anything 

sparkly or bedazzled these days.

The delicate ankle strap was to die for on these shoes!

You don't have to wear black shoes! 

These carmel colored heels looked fabulous!

Yeehaw! I love cowgirl boots.

The combination of the straps and the zippers on these was pretty awesome, but I love the contrast between the powerful shoes and the delicate ruffles on the lingerie.

You don't have to wear heels! 

This outfit, which combined a petty skirt and these killer white Doc Martens, was just so fun and playful.

Leopard print pumps? Yes, please!

While the simplicity of the shoe shape is nothing out of the ordinary, the lace detail really made me adore these shoes!

These were some killer Betsey Johnson platform pumps

 that laced up the back, like a corset!

Okay, so this shot isn't really about the shoes, but I felt the need to include it anyway. There's just something so sexy about a woman putting on or taking off her stockings. 

Yes, these are some crazy heels, which is why I love them!

These shoes scream vintage pinup to me. They also show off the ruffles down the back of the stockings. Too cute!

While I do love a bold pair of shoes, I can't help but be 

drawn to these. They're so simple and elegant.

So, this is more about the leg wear than the shoes, but I felt 

that I needed to include it. 

These lace down leg straps are ridiculously sexy!

You don't even have to wear shoes with a heel!

If you have a favorite pair of shoes that just 

make you feel sexy, rock them! 

I really dig the straps on these flat boots!

When in doubt, go for a great pair of sexy black pumps!  

You simply can't go wrong with a classic.

 As I'm getting back into film, I thought it was only appropriate to extend that love to my boudoir photography. These images are particularly grainy, which I love, but please note that this isn't always the case with my film work. 

I just felt it worked with these particular sessions. 

Salem Boudoir Photographer | How to do Pin Curls!

I love me some pin curls! It's an ideal style for boudoir, but also looks great for a day to day look!

Here I am (a few years ago) with pin curls in.

And here is the end result. I did my curls on dry hair, used hairspray and then left them in for about 15 minutes.

Oh how I wish I could share ALL of the images from this session, as this woman is absolutely gorgeous, from head to toe! I absolutely respect the privacy of my clients, though, and am more than happy to share these few anonymous shots.
