New Mexico Boudoir Photographer | when your friend won't cooperate...

Like many mothers, my best friend was not up for having boudoir photos done.  She wasn't loving her body and was overwhelmed with life, school, and her newly blossoming career. Sometimes when my friends won't cooperate, I have to trick them. For their own good, of course. The house I rented through airbnb had this really awesome light on the nightstand and I'd brought along this really awesome hat. I asked her to pose for me, just to test out the lighting situation, for the boudoir sessions I had planned for later.  In the end, she was the only one I photographed in this room, as I'd never intended to create this image with anyone else. When I saw the light in the room, I knew I had to have as my subject. I feel confident in saying that she loves this image and totally forgives me for my trickery. Plus, I let her wake me up at an unreasonable hour the next morning to hang out and drink massive amounts of coffee. She's a morning person and I am not, so I think we're even.

albuquerque boudoir photographer | bella

So, Bella is not her real name. Our mutual friend, Kate, has this thing where she makes up names for people. Names that she thinks suit them better than their given names. So, as long as I've known this woman, she's been Bella to me. I've never called her by her real name. It does seems fitting, though, since Bella means beautiful in Italian. Anyway, I love the diversity in Bella's session. She totally has this casual surfer girl vibe, but she's also elegant beyond belief. We even did a few shots with her wedding gown, which I love.

New Mexico Boudoir Photographer | floppy hat, beautiful light, gorgeous mama

My goodness was this mama fun to photograph. She was curvy, frecked, beautiful, and spunky as all get out! This session was shot in a beautiful Albuquerque home that I rented through airbnb for a boudoir party earlier this year. I love visiting New Mexico and plan to visit Albuquerque again next year, so if you're interested in booking a boudoir or family session with me, keep an eye out for announcements!

Albuquerque New Mexico Boudoir Photographer | sunflowers

It was just a given that this gorgeous little spitfire was going to have sunflowers in her boudoir session. She loves sunflowers so much that we went shopping together the night before her session in Albuquerque and found the perfect bunch of flowers for her photos the next day.  The location, rented through airbnb, was the perfect backdrop with hints of turquoise and a screened in porch.
